Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This special education teaching role offers the opportunity to support K-12 students across a full school year contract in Claremont, NH. The focus is on providing effective instruction and positive behavioral supports for students with disabilities by applying individualized approaches and adhering to all applicable special education laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) using NHSEIS, the states case management and data system.
- Collaborate virtually with teachers, parents, and service providers via platforms including Canvas and Zoom.
- Utilize data and behavior tracking tools such as Panorama to monitor student progress.
- Assess and support students with behavioral and affective disorders through positive behavioral interventions in individual and group settings.
- Conduct observations and prepare detailed reports on student learning behaviors.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state (IDEA and NH regulations), and local special education mandates, particularly within a virtual delivery model.
- Foster collaboration with administrators, colleagues, families, and community members to promote student success.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid New Hampshire state certification in Special Education.
- Prior experience as a virtual case manager or special education teacher in New Hampshire is essential.
- Strong understanding of special education principles, laws, and virtual instruction requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English.
- Familiarity with NHs virtual education systems and tools including NHSEIS, iLearnNH, and behavior/data tracking platforms.
Location: Claremont, NH
Schedule: Up to 37.5 hours per week
Contract Duration: ASAP through June 12, 2026 (tentative)
