Job DescriptionPart-Time HR & Benefits Administrator

Location: Burlington, MA (Hybrid)
Schedule: Part-time (approx. 16–24 hours/week)

AHA Consulting Engineers is seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on HR & Benefits Administrator to join our Human Resources team. This part-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety — from benefits administration and HR compliance to supporting recruiting, onboarding, and employee engagement initiatives.

Key ResponsibilitiesBenefits Administration

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefit questions and life event changes.

  • Process new hires, terminations, and COBRA notifications.

  • Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and coordinate with Accounting for accurate reporting.

  • Manage leaves of absence in partnership with Mutual of Omaha, payroll, and employees.

  • Conduct regular audits of benefits, payroll deductions, and eligibility to ensure compliance and data integrity.

  • Support open enrollment, including employee communications and troubleshooting system issues.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Prepare and maintain HR documentation, reports, and compliance notices (ACA, PFML, COBRA, SPD’s, Medicare, MassCHIP, etc.).

  • Verify employment for current/former employees, process background checks, and assist with offer letters and onboarding.

  • Track and update employee data in ADP and Deltek systems.

  • Support payroll accuracy through regular audits and data reviews.

Recruitment & Staffing

  • Post jobs and manage candidate flow through ADP Applicant Tracking System (ATS).

  • Coordinate college recruiting efforts, career fairs, and intern/co-op hiring.

  • Ensure job postings comply with MA Pay Transparency Law and other state/federal requirements.

Training & Employee Engagement

  • Schedule and coordinate training sessions.

  • Support company events, milestones, and service awards.

Required Qualifications

  • One+ years of experience in HR or benefits administration

  • Working knowledge of benefits administration, payroll processing, and HR compliance.

  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and organization skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Four+ years of experience in HR or benefits administration

  • Experience in engineering or professional services experience a plus.

  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now, Deltek, or similar HRIS systems preferred.
