JOB SUMMARY

To perform a variety of routine facility and maintenance tasks throughout the building and grounds. This is an in-person role on the second shift, from 12pm – 9pm.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform a full range of custodial duties as needed: clean/maintain floors and carpeting; wash windows; dust; empty trash and recycling; clean and stock employee lounge/coffee stations.
  • Perform various types of outdoor maintenance as needed: shovel, sand/salt walks;, trim hedges; rake leaves, etc.
  • Perform various building security functions.
  • Troubleshoot facilities operating equipment malfunctions, perform minor repairs and adjustments.
  • Assist with modular office construction/remodels and ergonomic component installation as needed.
  • Assist with tracking regular maintenance projects, safety records, MSDS documentation, etc.
  • Perform various fire prevention functions: Assist with fire drills, emergency equipment upkeep, etc.
  • Occasionally host HVAC and maintenance vendors.
  • Participate in after-hours emergency calls as needed.
  • Track facilities inventory supplies and materials usage.
  • Carry out various minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical and painting projects.
  • Stock print room and department computer paper.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Direct to moderate supervision is received from the Facilities Manager; however, the person in this position is required to be able to work unsupervised for extended periods of time.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Degree plus 1 to 3 years of relevant training or work experience; or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge/skills are acquired.
  • Strong basic trades/mechanical skills, with general knowledge/skills related to electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and machinery operation and repair.
  • Some relevant security, fire prevention and knowledge of safety-oriented procedures helpful.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and troubleshoot minor facility maintenance problems.
  • Strong reading, writing and math skills for ordering supplies, email communications, computing measurements, and the like.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Physical ability to perform all essential job duties.
  • Ability to effectively use PC applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.

PHYSCIAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to lift, carry, kneel, squat, bend, stoop, reach, twist, stand, work on ladders, etc.
  • May be exposed to inclement weather
  • Ability to lift/move 50-100 lbs.
