Supervisor:Assistant Director of Child Nutrition
Starting Salary Range:$65,000-$68,000
The Role: Inpartnership with the Assistant Director of Child Nutrition, theSeniorOutreach Coordinator plays a critical role in improving childrens access to qualityschool and summermeals in Eastern Massachusetts.By partnering with schools and communities, this role helpsexpand participation in School Breakfast Program and Summer Eats, Massachusetts summer food service program for children and teens ages 0-18.
This is a relationship-driven, impact-focused role ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, providing hands-on support, and translating best practices into action.The successful candidate for this role willpossessexcellent organizational, communications,and relationship-building skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
School Breakfast ProgramOutreach & Support
- Provide technicalassistanceand customizedsupport to schooldistrictadministrators and food service directors tostrengthen and expandSchool Breakfast Programparticipation.
- Foster andmaintainstrong working relationships with superintendents, principals, school nutrition directors, school committee members, teachers,local communitynetworksandother stakeholders.
- Work with stakeholders across Massachusetts to implement evidence-based strategiesfor expanding student participation, adoption of alternative breakfastmodelsand providing quality breakfast while following USDA nutritional guidelines.
Summer EatsProgram Outreach & Support
- Work with localcommunityand school district leaders and stakeholders, community-basedorganizationsand community networks to assess the need for Summer Eats expansion in targeted communities and creation of new Summer Eats programs.
- Provide technicalassistance, resources, and support to new and existingSummer Eats program operators.
- Assistand lead planning and execution of Summer Eats events with local communities, funders, and other stakeholders.
- Assistin the development and implementation of outreach strategies to increase participation at all Summer Eats sites.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assistin theimplementation of Project BreadsSchool Breakfast andSummer Eats Grant Programs.
- Manage or collaborate with other team members onspecialprojectsassignedby Director or Assistant Director of Child Nutrition.
- Maintainaccuraterecord-keeping systems to support reporting and communication of activities, including weekly, monthly,and annual reporting.
Organizational Responsibilities:
- Support the annual Walk for Hunger, including working as eventstaffthe weekend of the Walk (first weekend in May), and attending pre-Walk events as assigned.
- Participate in organization-wide events and meetings.
- Act to promote, sustain, and grow Project Breads positive, productive, and inclusive working environment.

- Project Management& Organization:Ability to both think broadly with big picture goals in mind and pay close attention to incremental details and processes.
- Program Implementation:Experience translating policy, guidelines, and best practices into practical, on-the-ground implementation.
Additional Qualifications and Experience:
- 2+ years prior relevant professional experience in nonprofit or community-based environments
- Familiarity with school food servicesand/or other child nutrition programs
- Ability to be a self-starter who is comfortable jumping into many different situations and settings, working independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with a range of audiences.
- Reliable access to a car; travel within Massachusettsis required tovisit and transport materials to schools and Summer Eats sites not accessible by public transportation.
- Personal commitment to solving hunger in Massachusetts.
Work Location
All employees are currently workingin a hybrid remote-and-in-person modeland are expected toworkinpersonat least onceeachweek. The Senior Coordinator willregularly workinperson ateitherProject Breads East Bostonofficeoron location at their assignedEastern MA school districts or communities.
