General Summary/ Overview:
Under the direction of the Health Information Management (HIM) Manager, the individual will serve in a leadership role to support the day-to-day operations of the Record Management, Centralized Record Control Center (CRCC) special projects. S/He works in collaboration with the Record Management team and vendors to process records being sent to offsite storage. S/He will support the operational components, including internally developed users applications of the day to day management of special projects.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• In collaboration with the management team, oversees the day-to-day operational functions of special projects in the CRCC.
• Coordinates assignment of team resources in operations of CRCC special projects.
• Facilitates training and provide direction and guidance to direct reports in a complex environment to ensure that all staff are appropriately informed, trained, guided, supported and evaluated. Works to develop staff for special projects.
• Manages daily scheduling and assists with timekeeping for unit team, including management of timekeeping exceptions
• Establish and maintain a positive and productive team environment and a stable work environment through leadership, mentoring and coaching staff
• Provides input to management regarding overall employee performance. Monitors the quality of work performed by staff throughout the fiscal year and informs management of any deficiencies
• Assist in recruiting and interviewing personnel in collaboration with HIM Management for the special projects team
• Provides orientation and training to new staff regarding the operational and system policies and procedures
• Works with management to respond to and mitigate the impact of issues which negatively impact unit functions. Collaborate with all involved parties regarding the issue and short and long-term plans for mitigation
• Compile, maintain and distribute operational and management special project reports on a weekly, monthly, and/or as needed basis for HIM departmental management and other stakeholders as requested by unit management. Attends regularly scheduled meetings providing updates/status reports of assigned special projects.

Qualifications:
Education
Associate’s Degree OR High School Diploma with 2 years of healthcare experience required. Degree in HIM, Business, Management, or a related field preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience
Requires 2+ years directly related HIM operation experience or 2+ general supervisory experience.
