Job Title: Analytical Chemist – Method Development & Validation

Location: Tewkesbury, MA

Employment Type: Full Time - Permanent

Experience Level: Intermediate

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Analytical Chemist to join our team in supporting the development, validation, and implementation of analytical methods for pharmaceutical products. This role involves hands-on testing using advanced instrumentation, troubleshooting analytical issues, and ensuring compliance with GMP standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in analytical chemistry and experience with a wide range of techniques and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize new analytical methods and techniques for product release.
  • Validate and verify analytical methods in accordance with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results, out-of-trend (OOT) data, and equipment failures.
  • Analyze and present trending data to support method development and validation efforts.
  • Perform analytical testing of organic and inorganic compounds using FTIR, HPLC, NMR, LCMS, GCMS, ICP-MS, GC, and wet chemistry techniques.
  • Author test procedures and provide analytical support for research and development projects.
  • Follow GMP guidelines and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Train and mentor junior team members as needed.

Required Skills & Expertise:

  • Strong proficiency in analytical techniques including NMR, GCMS, HPLC, FTIR, LCMS, ICP-MS, and wet chemistry.
  • Deep understanding of GMP regulations and quality systems.
  • Experience conducting method development, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (MS) in Chemistry or Biochemistry with 3–5 years of relevant experience, or
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Chemistry or Biochemistry with 5–7 years of experience.
  • Proven experience working with advanced analytical instrumentation in a pharmaceutical setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $85000.00/yr.

Company provides holiday, vacation, and 401k benefits. They will be able to gain bonuses past on company and personal performance.

This is a fully onsite position in Tewksbury,MA.
