Job Description
Facility Janitor for a manufacturing plant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and organized facility by performing daily cleaning and sanitation duties.
Key Duties and responsibilities
- Waster Management: Collect and dispose of all trash, recycling from both office and production areas.
- General Facility Cleaning: Perform standard janitorial tasks in office spaces, restrooms, breakrooms and locker rooms, such as dusting surfaces, cleaning windows and restocking supplies
- Floor Care: Vacuum office area, make sure restroom and breakroom floors are vacuumed, mopped and clean.
- Outdoor Maintenance: Conduct light outdoor tasks like sweeping/tidying walkways, and removing snow or debris from entryways.
- Inventory Management: Keep track of cleaning supplies and chemicals, requesting replenishment as needed
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Attention to detail: Possess a meticulous approach to effectively clean and ensure no areas are overlooked.
- Ability to work independently: the role often requires working with minimal supervision.
- Safety knowledge: Strong understanding of safety protocols, including the correct handling of chemicals and proper use of Personal protective equipment. (PPE), is essential
- Communication: Excellent communication skills are needed to coordinate with Supervisors, and to report maintenance issues.
- Adaptability: The role requires flexibility to handle various cleaning challenges and respond to spills or emergencies as they occur.
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent.
