Title: Yard Worker
Type: Temp to Hire
Shift: Sat-Wed 9PM- 6AM (Must be able to train 3AM-12PM)
Pay: $25-27/hr - DOE
Key Responsibilities:
Trailer Management:
- Coordinate and direct the movement of trailers in and out of the yard.
- Inspect trailers upon arrival and departure for compliance and condition.
- Maintain accurate logs of trailer locations and status.
Scheduling & Coordination:
- Schedule and monitor trailer arrivals and departures to ensure timely operations.
- Communicate with drivers, dispatch, and warehouse teams to align schedules.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Use computer systems to update trailer status and yard inventory.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records in Excel for reporting and tracking purposes.
Equipment Operation:
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
- Perform basic maintenance checks on equipment as needed.
Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Ensure yard operations comply with DOT and company standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic computer applications.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work on feet for extended periods and perform frequent walking.
- Forklift and pallet jack experience required.
- Previous yard experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Bonus if candidate has CDL A
Physical Requirements:
- This is a physical job, not a desk or sit-down position.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Extended standing and walking throughout the shift.
