We are seeking a skilled Chemist to perform analytical testing on gas streams, materials, and process outputs using Gas Chromatography (GC) and complementary techniques. This role involves executing and documenting calibration, preventive maintenance, and performance checks for GC systems and gas analyzers while adhering to standard operating procedures and manufacturer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Perform analytical testing on gas streams, materials, and process outputs using GC (e.g., TCD/FID), gas analyzers, and complementary techniques such as UV/VIS and FTIR where applicable.
- Execute and document calibration, preventive maintenance, and performance checks for GC systems, gas analyzers, and associated furnaces/ovens.
- Prepare standards, gases, and reagents; manage compressed gas cylinders, including selection, change-out, leak checks, regulators, and flow control following safety protocols.
- Develop and transfer basic methods, collect and analyze data, interpret results, and summarize findings in technical reports and presentations to cross-functional teams.
- Maintain SOPs, lab notebooks, logbooks, and calibration records in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Uphold EH&S standards, including chemical hygiene, PPE, safe cylinder handling, furnace operation, and incident reporting.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in analytical chemistry and gas chromatography.
- Experience in handling gas cylinders and wet chemistry techniques.
- Strong skills in quality control, calibration, and data analysis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
- 2-5 years of experience in a chemistry lab.
- Experience with Gas Chromatography is preferred.
Work Environment
The Chemist will work 100% onsite from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in a laboratory setting. The role primarily involves independent work, with some support from other technicians. The work environment is business casual. This position offers the unique opportunity to support clean energy initiatives and be at the forefront of the waste-to-clean energy movement.

This is a Contract position based out of Concord, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
