Austin Preparatory School, located in Reading, Massachusetts, about 15 miles north of Boston, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Facilities and Maintenance Technician. Founded in 1961, Austin Prep is an independent, co-educational Catholic day school in the Augustinian tradition, serving students in grades 6–12. The school enrolls over 800 students.

The Facilities and Maintenance Technician reports to the Director of Facilities and is responsible for performing preventive and routine maintenance and repairs. This role also assists in the oversight and coordination of facilities staff and contracted services to ensure the upkeep of Austin Prep’s facilities. Additionally, the role requires proactive problem-solving to identify potential issues before they escalate, thereby minimizing disruptions to the educational environment. The Technician will support the Facilities team with events and other facilities management needs as directed.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Solid, verifiable professional experience in major trades, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.

Education / Experience / Additional Requirements:

  • Licensed tradesperson with a minimum of 10 years of field experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical labor both indoors and outdoors.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
