Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a dedicated General Education Teacher to work with kindergarten students at an elementary school in Quincy, MA. This is a full-time contract position spanning two terms: ASAP through the end of the school year, and March 16th through the end of the school year.
The role focuses on teaching as a Stages Teacher with an emphasis on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) skills. Collaboration with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is essential to support students by implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Candidates should have experience or a strong interest in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to foster students emotional and behavioral development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver daily instruction and support tailored to kindergarten students unique needs
- Implement SEL-focused curriculum and develop positive classroom environments
- Collaborate closely with BCBAs and other special education staff to effectively apply BIPs and IEPs
- Utilize CBT strategies to promote positive student behavior and coping skills
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certified General Education Teacher with experience in early childhood or elementary education
- Knowledge of special education processes and behavioral intervention plans
- Experience or interest in CBT and SEL methodologies
- Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills
