About the Role
We’re seeking a hands-on Facilities Operations Manager to lead building operations and maintenance across a multi-building residential community. You’ll oversee maintenance staff and vendor partners, drive preventative maintenance programs, ensure safety/OSHA compliance, and deliver responsive, courteous service to residents and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, schedule, and develop maintenance/grounds staff
- Own preventive maintenance and track work orders to completion
- Conduct property inspections; create action plans and follow-up
- Manage vendors, scopes, bids, and quality
- Maintain inventory and make budget-conscious purchases
- Coordinate on-call rotation and respond to emergencies
- Keep accurate records; run safety meetings and ensure compliance
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; two years of related college coursework
- Licensed in a trade (plumbing, electrical, or HVAC) preferred
- 5+ years of maintenance operations & management experience
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry
- Proven leadership: supervise, teach, and motivate a facilities team
- Strong communication and documentation skills; professional resident service
- Available for 24-hour on-call response on a rotating basis
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and safe work practices
