Swansea Mall (on-site, daily once construction begins) Candidates may be based in Boston, Providence, or anywhere in between. Additional projects throughout the Northeast will follow.
Position Overview
Gator Development Corporation is seeking an experienced Construction Site Manager to be on site daily at Swansea Mall once construction begins. This role serves as the owner’s on-site representative, overseeing General Contractors (GCs), monitoring construction activity, and providing consistent, detailed reporting to ownership.
This is a highly visible, field-based role requiring a strong construction background, exceptional written communication skills, and disciplined documentation practices. The position will begin with the Swansea Mall project, with additional projects throughout the Northeast to follow.
Key Responsibilities
- Be on site daily during active construction phases to represent ownership interests
- Oversee and coordinate work performed by General Contractors and subcontractors
- Monitor construction progress, schedules, quality, and compliance with plans and specifications
- Identify issues, risks, or delays and escalate them promptly to ownership
- Prepare detailed daily written reports documenting site activity, progress, issues, and resolutions
- Maintain thorough documentation, including photos, logs, and correspondence
- Attend site meetings as needed and provide clear summaries to ownership
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with safety standards and project requirements
- Support additional construction projects throughout the Northeast as they come online
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience overseeing large-scale construction projects
- Strong background in construction (commercial and/or retail experience preferred)
- Demonstrated experience working with and managing General Contractors
- Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, professional daily reports
- Highly detail-oriented with strong documentation and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently on site and represent ownership professionally
- Comfortable with frequent on-site presence and regional travel
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience serving as an Owner’s Representative or Construction Manager
- Familiarity with retail, mall, or mixed-use construction environments
- Experience managing multiple projects across different locations
