Responsibilities:
- Operates spot welding equipment to weld or tack-weld overlapping edges of positioned components to fabricate sheet metal assemblies.
- Fabricate sheet metal assemblies based on engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Layout, fit, and weld components with, ensuring adherence to dimensional requirements.
- Conduct grinding, deburring, and surface finishing of welds to meet requirements.
- Assist in general fabrication activities such as forming, assembly, hardware installation, or machine operation as needed.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs promptly.
- Able to read calipers and maintain tolerances for precision light gauge sheet metal
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in welding and fabrication, preferably within a precision or prototype sheet metal environment.
- Proficient in Spot Welding operation on thin-gauge materials (0.030"–0.125").
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and welding symbols.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including layout, cutting, forming, and fitting.
- Experience with hand tools, grinders, and general fabrication equipment.
- Able to maintain tight tolerances and producing high-quality finishes.
Hours are:
Monday through Friday 7am to 3:30pm
The pay is up to $20.00 an hour based on experience
