Residential Landscape Maintenance Manager

The Residential Landscape Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing and continuously improving the delivery of high-quality residential landscape maintenance services while also supporting sales and revenue growth within the maintenance division. This role leads crews, manages client relationships, prepares and presents maintenance proposals, and manages existing maintenance contracts to ensure retention, profitability, and client satisfaction. The Manager plays a critical role in maintaining long-term client relationships, developing team members, and upholding Egan Landscape Groups standards for reliability, professionalism, and horticultural excellence.

OBJECTIVES


  • Oversee and manage all aspects of residential landscape maintenance operations to ensure contract compliance, quality, and profitability.
  • Meet with current and prospective clients to assess property needs and recommend appropriate maintenance solutions.
  • Prepare, price, and submit maintenance proposals, renewals, and service adjustments in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage and retain existing maintenance contracts through proactive communication, site visits, and performance oversight.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling enhancements or expanded maintenance services.
  • Ensure weekly, monthly, and seasonal maintenance schedules are executed accurately and efficiently.
  • Lead, train, and develop maintenance crews to promote safety, productivity, and professional growth.
  • Monitor job costs, labor efficiency, and materials usage to meet or exceed budget expectations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work meets company standards and client expectations.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with internal teams including enhancement sales, operations, and administration.
  • Implement and reinforce sustainable landscaping and best horticultural practices.
  • Address and resolve client concerns promptly to maintain high retention rates.


COMPETENCIES


  • Strong knowledge of residential landscape maintenance practices, including turf care, plant health care, pruning, and seasonal services.
  • Ability to manage and grow a book of residential maintenance clients.
  • Experience preparing, pricing, and presenting maintenance proposals and contract renewals.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple crews, schedules, and properties simultaneously.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and hold teams accountable.
  • Strong sales and customer service skills with a focus on long-term client relationships.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


  • Proven experience in residential landscape maintenance or landscape operations management.
  • Strong working knowledge of turf care, ornamental plant maintenance, and seasonal services.
  • Prior experience supervising crews and managing client relationships preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with computer applications and willingness to learn company software systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel between job sites.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Ability to walk, stand, and move around job sites for extended periods, including uneven terrain.
  • Capability to lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Comfort with bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing in outdoor environments.
  • Ability to visually assess landscape conditions, quality of work, and safety concerns.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
  • Ability to hear and communicate effectively in noisy environments.
  • Physical stamina to support long days during peak seasonal demands.
  • Ability to respond quickly to on-site issues or urgent client needs.
