We are seeking a hard-working, detail-oriented Line Cook to join our kitchen team at Lovell Arena in Rockland, MA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in food preparation, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and ensuring that all meals are prepared to the highest standards of quality and hygiene. You will work closely with the Head Cook and fellow team members to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen operation. We currently have two full-time positions and two part-time positions open.
- Assist in preparing meal ingredients, including washing, peeling, cutting, and slicing fruits and vegetables, as well as marinating meats.
- Prepare soups, salads, sauces, and other dishes as instructed by the Head Cook.
- Plate and garnish meals according to the Head Cook’s instructions.
- Support the work of and partner with kitchen staff as needed to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Ensure all cooking stations are properly stocked with necessary ingredients and cooking equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen stations and surfaces before, during, and after shifts.
- Follow standard food rotation practices to minimize waste and prevent contamination.
- Assess the quality of delivered food supplies to ensure they meet restaurant standards.
- Adhere to all food health and safety regulations.
- Attend mandatory kitchen meetings and participate in training as required.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Proven cooking experience in a professional kitchen environment.
- Food handler's license (required or willingness to obtain).
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts is a plus.
- Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, and health standards.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Flexibility in scheduling is required. Due to the dynamic operations and frequent changes in event scheduling at Lovell Arena, we are unable to guarantee the same specific days off each week.
