General Description:
This Business Intelligence and Applications Director will serve as the chief data architect and the individual responsible for the creation, maintenance, improvement, oversight and eventual federation of a consolidated enterprise wide data repository. Working in collaboration with the Chief Information Officer and other senior executives, the Business Intelligence Director will identify and architect a unified and useful data position that directly supports data aggregation, mining, reporting, dashboarding in accordance with the strategic objectives of the organization. In addition to advising the strategic direction, performing the tactical execution of data warehousing, the Business Intelligence and Applications Director will also mentor, support and supervise the growing application analysts within the IT Department, ensuring adequate technical support, training and end user satisfaction with mission critical applications.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Analytics, Business Analytics or related field. Master’s Degree preferred. At least 10 years of directly related, proven data analytics experience.
- Demonstrated experience in data modeling, architecture and design
- Demonstrated experience in data ETLs and aggregated across disparate systems and data repositories
- Strong preference for SQL Database administration certification or equivalent experience
- Project Management certification or demonstrated experience
- Strong policy and procedure knowledge as it relates to information security and privacy in a health care setting
- Experience with data aggregation, ETL’s across multiple data sources, “ground up” creation of federated datasets
- Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of non-technical internal customers
- Ability to remain calm, helpful and productive in all situations
- Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment and be willing to mentor junior members of the team and members of the broader organization with an “excellence in training and customer service” attitude
- Ability to participate in and facilitate group trainings, meetings and lead demonstrations
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Craft policies, procedures and processes to support the prioritization and delivery of data sets to both internal and external customers
- Discover and maintain an excellent working knowledge of the data architecture and workflows of mission critical applications to be used in enterprise wide reporting
- Create and maintain all documentation related to Business Intelligence systems such as data dictionaries, report definitions, data validation and testing results, etc.
- Work with Business Intelligence team to identify, create, test and deploy enterprise wide ETL’s or other data routines to consolidate disparate operational databases into one enterprise wide data repository
- Meet with internal stakeholder to solicit data requirements, design data repositories and warehouses in a stackable, scalable data model
- Advise internal stakeholders on data availability and guide department leaders in deepening our culture of “data to action”
- Maintain a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, CHC’s Integrity and Compliance Program, and Code of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior
- Support Application Analysts in performing daily responsibilities
- Partner with the IT Operations Manager and CIO to create a framework to deliver robust, role specific trainings to end users on mission critical applications
- Performs other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
- This position requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting computer equipment, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires sitting, standing and walking for prolonged periods of time
- Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate forms and reports.
- Requires the ability to work long and arduous hours.
