Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Special Education Teacher position is available within a K-12 school setting in Bennington, VT. This contract role runs through the current school year (CSY) and involves a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. The role requires providing specialized instructional support to students with diverse learning needs across kindergarten through 12th grade.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students with special education needs
  • Collaborate with other educators and support staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school personnel regarding student development and needs
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and relevant professional development activities

Qualifications:

  • Valid VT Special Education teaching license or willingness to pursue provisional licensing
  • Experience working with students in grades K-12 with various special education needs
  • Strong understanding of federal and state special education laws and guidelines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment for all students

Location: Bennington, VT

This opportunity involves working with one school under the supervision of the Special Education Director. The interview process will be conducted remotely via Zoom with the Special Education Director. Candidates should be prepared to start immediately and commit through the end of the current school year.
