Job DescriptionWe are seeking a reliable, patient, and safety focused part-time Bus/Van Monitor to support the safe transportation of school aged children to and from school, daycare, and after school programs. The School Bus /Van Monitor plays a vital role in ensuring students’ well being by maintaining order on the vehicle, assisting students as needed, and supporting the driver in providing a calm, respectful, and safe ride.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, demonstrates strong communication skills, and understands the importance of consistency and compassion, especially when supporting students with special needs. This paid position offers a meaningful opportunity to positively impact students’ daily routines while working in a supportive, team oriented environment.
Routes cover the following towns: Lowell, Andover, Burlington, Billerica, Chelmsford, Dracut, Lawrence, Methuen, and Tewksbury, Waltham, Boston and more

Responsibilities:
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the vehicle safely
- Monitor student behavior during transport to ensure a safe and orderly environment
- Provide support to students with special needs or disabilities, as required
- Communicate respectfully and effectively with students, drivers, school staff, and parents
- Support the driver by observing safety concerns and reporting issues promptly
- Help manage emergencies or unexpected situations following established safety protocols
- Complete required documentation such as incident reports when necessary
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be reliable, punctual, and professional
- Experience working with children, childcare, education support, or special needs populations preferred
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus
- Calm demeanor with the ability to manage student behavior positively and respectfully
- Ability to follow safety procedures and respond appropriately in stressful situations
- Commitment to creating a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive environment for all students
