Summary
The Educational Supports Coordinator plays a key role in supporting classroom excellence, staff development, and program quality. This position is responsible for mentoring new staff, guiding curriculum implementation, Ages and Stages Questionnaires (ASQ) screenings, assisting with student behavioral support, and ensuring ongoing quality and safety within assigned classrooms. The role is a hybrid direct classroom engagement and curriculum development, with approximately 60% of time spent monthly in classrooms observing and supporting teachers. This role will also include classroom coverage when needed for ratio.
This is a full time position at our Pease location.
Duties
Key Responsibilities
*Classroom coverage when needed for ratios
*Staff Mentorship and Development
- Act as a mentor to new staff, modeling best practices in child development, classroom management, and curriculum delivery for assigned classrooms.
- Coordinate ASQ documentation, track results, and report findings with supervisors and state agencies and partners for assigned classrooms.
- Collaborate with supervisors and staff to meet curriculum. Early Learning NH and Great Bay Kids' standards and goals.
- Provide training and ongoing support related to Curriculum, ASQ, and classroom best practices.
*Curriculum and Classroom Support
- Mentor and coach Lead and Associate Teachers in the implementation of curriculum within assigned classrooms.
- Regularly participate in classroom planning time to guide developmentally appropriate lessons, activities, and instructional strategies that align with program goals and learning outcomes in assigned classrooms.
- Assist teachers in implementing student behavioral support plans, providing guidance on managing challenging behaviors and positive interventions in assigned classrooms.
- Administer, track, and follow up on ASQ screenings for assigned classrooms.
*Observations and Coaching
- Spend 60% of time monthly in classrooms observing teacher practices, providing in-the-moment coaching, and modeling strategies.
- Promote a positive and professional team culture through ongoing encouragement and constructive feedback.
- Provide both formal and informal feedback and coaching to teachers, reinforcing strengths and identifying opportunities for growth.
- Contribute insights and observations for staff performance evaluations to support supervisors' reviews.
Requirements
*Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required. Bachelor's preferred.
*Minimum 3 years of classroom experience in Early Childhood Education.
*Knowledge of curriculum planning and strategies for supporting children with challenging behaviors.
*Experience in mentoring or coaching teachers is strongly preferred.
*Knowledge of NH Licensing Rules, Early Learning Standards, and Granite Steps for Quality (GSQ).
*Familiarity with Ages Stages Questionnaires (ASQ) developmental screening or equivalent.
*Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
*Ability to model best practices and support positive team cultures.
*Must meet state background check and health requirements. CPR/First Aid certification required or obtainable within 90 days.
