Job Description

At Kindbridge Research Institute (KRI), we are pioneering work in a space that's still taking shape—gambling-related mental health. As a non-profit at the intersection of research, behavioral health, and community well-being, KRI is leading efforts to better understand gambling behaviors and their impact on vulnerable populations such as veterans, service members, and young adults. Through partnerships with researchers, universities, and public health systems, we deliver data-driven solutions and outreach strategies that promote awareness, prevention, and access to care.

We're seeking a Part-Time Science Communication & Dissemination Research Analyst to support a growing statewide initiative focused on reducing gambling-related harm across Massachusetts. You will help turn complex research findings into clear, actionable knowledge—shaping how information moves from data to insight to impact. In this role, you will translate scientific evidence into accessible materials for academic partners, policymakers, service providers, and communities disproportionately affected by structural inequities. Your work will help bring the OPGS Data to Action Framework to life and ensure that evidence truly supports the people it is meant to serve.

Why This Role Matters:

  • You believe research should reach people—not sit in journals—and are driven to translate science into real-world understanding
  • You care deeply about health equity and want to make information accessible to diverse communities
  • You excel at turning complex data into compelling stories, visuals, and clear messages
  • You enjoy collaborating across academia, public health, government, and community organizations
  • You're excited to help shape a growing statewide initiative where communication directly drives public health impact

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write and co-author peer-reviewed manuscripts, white papers, technical summaries, and academic conference materials
  • Translate scientific findings into accessible reports, policy briefs, fact sheets, infographics, and other community-facing materials
  • Coordinate dissemination activities—including conference submissions, communication schedules, newsletters, and distribution timelines
  • Support open-access publication processes, including manuscript submission, revisions, and communication with journals
  • Develop clear summaries of research findings for REC partners, KRI leadership, and community audiences
  • Maintain organized repositories of manuscripts, references, data summaries, and dissemination materials
  • Conduct literature reviews, rapid evidence scans, and background summaries to support REC program planning
  • Help create visual communication tools such as infographics, slide decks, and graphical abstracts to improve accessibility
  • Track dissemination milestones, deadlines, and deliverables to keep projects on schedule
  • Report to the Project Manager and communicate progress, challenges, and needs
  • Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive work environment grounded in professionalism, integrity, and scientific rigor

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree (completed or in progress) in Public Health, Health Communication, Social Sciences, Behavioral Health, or a related field
  • Excellent writing skills with experience producing academic manuscripts, policy-facing documents, or community-focused summaries
  • Understanding of or strong interest in health equity and supporting diverse communities across Massachusetts
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple writing and dissemination workflows
  • Experience in behavioral health, addiction, public health surveillance, or related research fields
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail, accuracy, and reliability

Work Culture & Values:

  • Flexible In-Office Schedule: This part-time role includes regular in-person work in our Beverly, MA office for collaboration and team connection
  • Autonomous & Impact-Driven: We believe in giving our team members the trust, tools, and support to own their work
  • Collaborative & Innovative: You'll be part of a dynamic, mission-driven team that values open communication, learning, and experimentation

This is more than a project—it's a platform to grow your career, explore new territory, and make a tangible impact. Come join us at KRI!

Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Colorado Pay Range$30,000—$35,000 USD
