Director of Compliance – Wealth & Trust Services
Location: Salem, NH (Hybrid Available)
Compensation: $175K–$200K DOE + Excellent Benefits
Are you ready to take the lead in shaping compliance and trust operations for a boutique, growing wealth management and trust services firm? This is a unique opportunity for an experienced compliance leader to step into a highly visible role where your expertise will directly influence organizational integrity, risk management, and client trust.
As Director of Compliance, you’ll serve as the key advisor to senior leadership, overseeing all aspects of regulatory compliance, trust operations, and risk management. You’ll design and implement compliance programs, mentor trust administration staff, and act as a critical liaison to governance committees. With a small but growing team, this role offers both strategic influence and hands-on leadership.
What You’ll Do
- Lead compliance programs including BSA, AML, OFAC, Patriot Act, and Customer Identification.
- Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
- Oversee transaction monitoring, investigate suspicious activity, and manage regulatory reporting.
- Provide guidance to executives and internal committees on compliance and fiduciary standards.
- Mentor and oversee trust administrators, ensuring accounts meet regulatory and fiduciary requirements.
- Prepare compliance reports and act as a signing authority for key approvals.
- Deliver compliance training programs to build a culture of accountability and integrity.
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in trust administration and financial regulatory compliance, including leadership responsibility.
- Strong working knowledge of BSA, AML, OFAC, and related financial laws/regulations.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire teams.
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
- JD or CTFA designation required.
