Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school in Montpelier, VT is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support K-12 students throughout the full school year. This contract role provides an opportunity to contribute to an inclusive learning environment by delivering individualized instruction tailored to students unique needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) aligned with state standards
- Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student progress
- Monitoring and documenting student performance and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly
- Providing direct instruction and behavioral support to students with diverse learning challenges
- Participating in meetings, trainings, and professional development activities to stay current with special education best practices
Candidates should possess:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with students across K-12 grade levels
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and behavior management techniques
- Excellent munication and teamwork skills to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
