Job Summary:

As a Commercial Construction Laborer, you will play a vital role in supporting the construction team by performing a variety of physical tasks and duties on commercial construction sites. Your responsibilities will encompass tasks such as site preparation, equipment operation, material handling, and general construction assistance. A strong work ethic, physical stamina, and a commitment to safety are essential in this role.

Full-time, in person.

Responsibilities:

Assist in site preparation by clearing debris, digging trenches, and setting up barriers as needed.

Operate construction equipment, such as forklifts, skid steers, and loaders, to transport materials and equipment around the site.

Handle and transport construction materials, tools, and supplies to various work areas as directed by the supervisor.

Assist skilled tradespeople, such as carpenters and masons, with tasks that require additional manpower.

Perform basic carpentry tasks, such as measuring, cutting, and nailing lumber, under the guidance of experienced craftsmen.

Assist in the setup and maintenance of construction site safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Clean and maintain construction sites on an ongoing basis, ensuring a safe and organized work environment.

Load and unload materials from trucks and delivery vehicles, taking care to prevent damage to items and equipment.

Follow instructions from supervisors and communicate effectively with team members to ensure efficient workflow.

Adhere to all company policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on workplace safety.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Physical fitness and the ability to perform strenuous tasks, including lifting, carrying, and manual labor, for extended periods.

Basic understanding of construction processes and materials, along with a willingness to learn and improve skills.

Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse construction crews.

Adaptability to changing tasks and work environments, while maintaining a positive attitude.

Strong communication skills to follow instructions and convey information accurately.

Prior experience in construction or related field is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment.

Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.

Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.

Must have drivers license and own transportation.
