Reporting to the Volunteer Lead, the Volunteer Coordinator assists in the recruiting, training, organization, and support of the team of volunteer drivers within the RCT service area, administering the volunteer driver program to ensure the provision of efficient, high-quality, safe volunteer driver services to RCT passengers. This position will be based in our Morrisville (VT) office, serving Lamoille, Franklin, and Grand Isle Counties.
Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties and responsibilities reflect the essential functions of the position, but do not restrict the assignment of additional or different tasks; changes to the duties and responsibilities may be made at managements discretion. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Coordinate distribution, completion, and receipt of all required forms and documentation for volunteer drivers, including background check consent and information forms; applications; driver license and vehicle insurance verification; and other documents as required for reports and files. Follow up with volunteers and prospective volunteers as required to obtain all documents.
- Perform volunteer driver vehicle inspections.
- Maintain complete files of volunteer drivers and all volunteer driver-involved incidents and accidents.
- Assist in the planning, organization, and presentation of new volunteer driver orientation and initial training following application approval, completion of background checks, and receipt of required documentation.
- Assist in the planning, development, organization, and presentation of
initial, periodic, and ad-hoc training
for all drivers, as required by contract and/or internal program standards, and as training needs are identified.
- Address inaccurate volunteer driver manifests and follow up with drivers as necessary to complete and/or correct trip data.
- Responsible for volunteer relations: regularly communicate and check in
with volunteers and respond promptly to volunteer concerns and complaints.
- Inform Volunteer Lead of concerns and issues related to volunteer drivers, as necessary/appropriate.
- Assist in the evaluation of volunteer driver performance; advise management on such performance and of any required/recommended
corrective action and/or severance of the volunteer/Agency relationship; and take appropriate action, as necessary.
- Responsible for promoting the volunteer driver program in the community.
- Promote a positive image of RCT and professionally represent the Agency.
- Perform other duties as require tomeet department and Agency needs.
Required:
Any combination of education and experience likely to provide the skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform the essential functions successfully.
Preferred:
Bachelors degree with work experience in community relations, community outreach, nonprofit management, or a related field.
