Job Description
Overview:
The Category Analyst will provide a high level of analytical support for the Category and Sales Managers. Support will include analysis of business and market trends to recommend new strategies to managers and increase sales. The Category Analyst will provide general item maintenance within the Retalix HQ system and contribute to profitability of assigned categories through analysis of performance data.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related area is preferred.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English proficiently.
- Must have the ability to understand and follow English directions.
- Must be adaptable to a fast-paced work environment.
- Must have great attention to detail and ability to focus on the project at hand to deliver error-free results.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to work with people of various backgrounds, personality traits and levels of authority to accomplish department and Company goals.
- Successful completion of pre-employment/promotion drug screen and or criminal background check. (Timeline must fall within Company guidelines.)
Responsibilities:
- Assist Category Managers in developing category management strategies for the company.
- Assist in sales and profitability of assigned categories through analysis of performance data.
- Assist in planning promotional activities and sales events for assigned categories.
- Analyze business and market trends to recommend new strategies for increased sales.
- Create business presentations and sales proposals as needed.
- Conduct post-promotion investigations to study the marketing impact to category and brand.
- Prepare customized reports to management when needed.
- Facilitate new item setup in Retalix and maintain cost, pricing, and promotional changes.
