Reporting to the Technical Operations Manager and under the direction of Operations personnel, the Seasonal Operations Technician provides a wide range of superior technical assistance/support to live and taped studio and remote productions, particularly in the areas of Master Control and feed acquisition.

Please note: Open to someone looking for Part Time (20-24 hours/week) or Full Time (40 hours/week)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate network’s automated playback system and manipulate multiple on-air playlists simultaneously for live event and remote programming
  • Record incoming satellite and fiber feeds, including incoming programming and live events
  • Log programming and event materials to ensure fulfillment of sales and programming commitments
  • Ingest commercials into network’s servers and prep for air
  • Track all live event times, commercial times and discrepancies
  • Archive records
  • Edit and prepare all live events for rebroadcasts
  • Consistently improve technical skills and work towards becoming one of NESN’s Master Control experts
  • Work weekends, nights, holidays and overnight shifts as needed
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Two years television experience or one year Master Control experience a plus but willing to train the right candidate.
  • Ability to excel in a highly technical environment and learn new technologies quickly
  • Excellent organizational skills and must be extremely detail-oriented
  • Ability to successfully work in a fast paced, loosely structured environment
  • Must have strong communication skills and interpersonal skills, and possess a positive “can-do” attitude
  • Must be a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision but also able to work effectively within a team environment
  • Must be able to work weekends, nights (including overnight shifts) and holidays as needed

The expected range for this position is $18 to $19 per hour. The final offer will be determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and internal equity.
