Shipping Supervisor
Job Summary:
The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for the daily movement of product (direct & indirect material) in and out of the facility. This includes Raw Materials, Work-in-Process (e.g., parts going to subcontract), and Finished Goods.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effectively lead team of Shipping Associates to execute to the daily ship schedule; mentor the team and foster cross-functional relationships
- Establish effective daily communication plan amongst the team
- Establish cross-training plan amongst the team on critical functions to establish redundancy
- Process shipments and related transactions in the ERP system
- Work closely with Customer Service to ensure alignment on changing customer requirements
- Create the daily truck schedule for Momentum drivers and schedule commercial carriers as required to support the daily ship schedule
- Own the receiving inspection process to validate incoming material against open supplier requirements; involve Quality as necessary when concerns are identified
- Manage Finished Goods inventory, including periodic cycle counts
- Other duties as required
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing and supply chain
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Manufacturing ERP experience required
- Infor Syteline ERP experience preferred
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma
- At least five years of Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Logistics experience
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting and working on a computer
- Must be capable of lifting 25-50 lbs. at times
