Schedule: Monday–Friday, Full-Time, In-Person
Classification: Year-Round, Salaried Position, Exempt Employee

Overview

Pine Haven Boys Center is a private, non-profit, non-sectarian residential and educational facility serving boys ages 6-14 who have experienced trauma, neglect, and behavioral or emotional challenges. Set on 100+ acres in Allenstown, NH just 10 minutes south of Concord and 15 minutes north of Manchester our intensive therapeutic and academic programs help students grow academically, emotionally, and socially.

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented HR, Compliance & Risk Management Specialist to lead efforts across human resources, workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and insurance management. This position ensures the organization remains compliant with internal policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards, while also supporting a safe and supportive workplace.

The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a proactive mindset, and expertise in HR, compliance, and risk management to drive operational excellence in a mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources & Benefits Administration

  • Administer employee benefits, including health, dental, vision, disability, and retirement plans
  • Support staff with benefit enrollment, updates, and claims inquiries
  • Maintain accurate job descriptions that reflect current roles, responsibilities, and compliance standards
  • Track and notify staff of upcoming license or certification renewals


Employee Relations & Workplace Culture

  • Address peer-to-peer complaints fairly, confidentially, and in alignment with policy
  • Support a respectful and positive workplace environment through consistent communication and follow-up
  • Maintain secure records of employee relations activities

Employee Performance & Annual Reviews

  • Track employee annual performance reviews, ensuring timely completion across all departments
  • Provide leadership with regular updates on upcoming reviews and overdue evaluations
  • Support managers with necessary documentation, forms, or process guidance for effective and consistent evaluations
  • Maintain organized records of completed reviews for compliance and auditing purposes

Regulatory Compliance & Safety Oversight

  • Monitor compliance with OSHA standards and maintain required workplace safety documentation
  • Lead or actively participate in the Safety Committee to track incidents and implement proactive safety initiatives
  • Ensure facility licensure and accreditation requirements are met, including preparation for inspections and audits

Insurance & Risk Management

  • Coordinate applications and renewals for organizational insurance policies, including property, liability, vehicle, and workers’ compensation
  • Maintain and update the organizational drivers list to meet insurance compliance requirements
  • Liaise with insurance brokers and carriers to process updates, claims, and policy changes
  • Track and collect Certificates of Insurance (COIs) from vendors, contractors, and partners
  • Support timely claim documentation and resolution while maintaining accurate reporting records
  • Prepare insurance documentation for audits and inspections
  • Maintain organized insurance records and databases for efficient access and review

Policy Auditing & Compliance Training

  • Conduct regular audits of organizational policies to ensure alignment with laws, accreditation standards, and best practices
  • Lead the annual policy review and update process, drafting revisions and coordinating leadership approval
  • Communicate policy updates clearly to staff and provide related clarification as needed
  • Track and follow up with staff to ensure completion of annual mandatory trainings and policy acknowledgments
  • Maintain records of compliance signoffs and training completions to ensure audit readiness

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Risk Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, OSHA standards, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience managing insurance programs and organizational risk management
  • Familiarity with CARF accreditation processes and facility credentialing preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Proven ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment

Compensation

Starting salary of $55,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications, with adjustments based on performance and tenure.

Work Environment

This position is office-based at our residential treatment campus and involves regular interaction with staff, external vendors, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
