The Adirondack Club is a premier, family-oriented health, tennis and pickleball facility. We offer high-quality programs for players of all ages and skill levels. We are dedicated to providing a positive and dynamic environment where players can improve their skills, stay active, and enjoy the community. We are looking for a passionate and experienced full-time tennis and pickleball professional to support and assist the Director in delivering top-tier experiences, from red-ball juniors through adult development, while launching and promoting new initiatives. The ideal candidate must hold a nationally recognized coaching certification and be available to work nights and at least one weekend day.
Key Responsibilities
Program Creation & Promotion
- Design, implement, and market new tennis and pickleball programs, including clinics, leagues, ladders, mixers, camps, and tournaments
- Utilize email campaigns, newsletters, and in‑club signage to grow participation
Instruction & 10 and Under Player Development
- Provide high-quality instruction in both tennis and pickleball to players of all ages and skill levels
- Lead the 10 and Under player development program. Incorporate the USTA’s 10‑and‑Under curriculum to build technique, coordination, confidence, and enthusiasm
- Conduct private lessons, group clinics, team practices and specialized programs
- Knowledge of the latest teaching techniques, training methodologies, and advancements in tennis and pickleball
- Patience and enthusiasm to motivate and encourage players to achieve their full potential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with players, parents and facility staff
- Assist in organizing and running tournaments, leagues, and events
- Promote and support tennis and pickleball programs through community outreach and club events
- Help with program marketing efforts and grow participation in tennis and pickleball activities
- Willingness to learn and/or ability to string racquets
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Certifications: Hold nationally recognized coaching certification for tennis (USPTA, PTR, RSPA) and/or pickleball (IPTPA, PPR)
- Proven experience developing new programs and growing participation across age and skill levels
- Available to work evenings and at least one weekend day
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Experience
- 5+ years of tennis and pickleball coaching, including leadership roles and administrative duties.
- Experience with USTA league play or sanctioned pickleball events
- Familiarity with court reservation and management systems (e.g., Club Automation)
- CPR and First Aid certification
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation:
- 8-10 hours of administrative time per week at $25 per hour
- 25-30 hours per week on court paid at $40-$44 per hour for programs and 50% of lesson price for any lessons
- Total hours worked 35-40 per week
Benefits Package:
- Sick Time: Up to 40 hours per calendar year
- Vacation Time: 10 days per year - Renews on Anniversary of Employment
- Holidays: 5 paid per year (Thanksgiving and Christmas + 3 floating)
