Our client, a leading manufacturing organization, is seeking a Boiler Operator Apprentice to join their team. As a Boiler Operator Apprentice, you will be part of the Operations Department supporting the plant maintenance and operations team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Boiler Operator Apprentice

Location: New Bedford, MA

Pay Range: $34.66

Shift: Friday 11:00 PM – 11:00 AM, Saturday 11:00 PM – 11:00 AM, plus one 8-hour shift during the week

Training: Must be available to train on 1st shift for 4–6 weeks

What's the Job?

  • Operate, maintain, and service boilers, air compressors, chillers, hydraulic pumps, clarifiers, and cooling towers.
  • Rebuild worn pumps, valves, and repair or replace piping systems.
  • Assist team members by providing information or collecting data related to plant services.
  • Maintain an inventory of parts and reorder supplies as needed.
  • Perform chemical treatment for all systems and maintain accurate work records using computerized maintenance systems.

What's Needed?

  • A minimum of 3 years experience as a Boiler Operator is required.
  • Must possess a Mass 2nd Class Fireman License.
  • Ability to work well with others and possess strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English, perform basic math calculations, and use blueprints and schematics.
