Senior Product Development Engineer - Thermal & Metal Systems

We're a leading manufacturer seeking a Senior Engineer to help us design and deliver advanced metal-based thermal systems, including liquid cooling assemblies, cold plates, heat exchangers, and chillers. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you'll lead small teams, engage directly with clients, and collaborate closely with our shop floor to bring complex systems to life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Get Your Hands Dirty:
    You'll be directly involved in the welding, machining, and fabrication of our thermal systems. From concept to prototype to production, you'll help shape how our products are built.
  • Work Closely with Customers:
    You'll meet with clients to understand their needs, translate those into technical solutions, and deliver finished products that solve real-world problems.
  • Lead a Team:
    You'll guide a small team of engineers and technicians, keeping projects on track and energy high. Your leadership will help drive innovation and accountability.
  • Coordinate with the Shop Floor:
    You'll be the bridge between engineering and manufacturing. You'll work side by side with machinists, welders, and assemblers to ensure everything is built right the first time.
  • Own the Product Lifecycle:
    From initial design through production and support, you'll be the go-to engineer for your projects. You'll also lead root cause investigations and continuous improvement efforts when needed.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in manufacturing or product development, with a strong focus on metal fabrication, welding, and machining
  • A BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Experience working directly with customers and translating their needs into manufacturable designs
  • A proven ability to lead small teams and collaborate across departments
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, GD&T, and engineering documentation
  • Familiarity with aerospace, defense, or medical industry standards is a plus
