Position Overview:
The Adirondack Club is seeking a dedicated, Childcare Team Lead with prior experience working with children in various capacities (e.g., teaching, babysitting, nannying). This role is essential in fostering a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children within our club’s childcare services. The Childcare Lead will oversee daily activities, support a team of childcare assistants, and ensure that all childcare protocols are met to the highest standards. Candidates applying to this role must be college-age or older to qualify.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision & Engagement: Lead and participate in structured activities, free play, and age-appropriate educational exercises, ensuring children are actively engaged and safe.
- Staff Leadership: Act as the primary point of support for childcare assistants during shifts, assisting with staff guidance and ensuring consistent adherence to club policies.
- Safety & Compliance: Implement and enforce safety standards, ensuring all health and safety protocols are followed. Respond to and address any incidents or issues promptly and professionally.
- Parent Communication: Engage with parents and guardians during drop-off and pick-up, providing updates on their child’s day and addressing any questions or concerns with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Environment Maintenance: Ensure the childcare space remains clean, organized, and welcoming, coordinating with assistants to complete daily cleaning checklists and any additional tasks.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years working with children in roles such as teaching, babysitting, nannying, or other child-focused work.
- Education: Currently enrolled in or completed college courses (preferably in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field).
- Skills: Strong communication skills, leadership ability, patience, and a commitment to providing quality care.
- Certifications: CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification within the first three months of employment.
