The Superintendent acts as the Construction Manager for assigned construction projects; overseeing the daily construction activities on the jobsite and reporting to upper management on progress and issues. The Superintendent works collaboratively with all members of the project team and supervises all craft employees, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Oversee all field operations to ensure that self-performed and subcontracted trade work complies with contract documents, specifications, and the project schedule.
- Manage day-to-day project progress; maintain and update the construction schedule with completed percentage data, and report progress daily to upper management.
- Complete all required daily documentation, including logs, weather conditions, safety reports, change order tracking, and RFI documentation.
- Enforce safety and quality control policies consistently among employees and subcontractors; lead weekly safety toolbox talks and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Schedule and supervise subcontractors; coordinate trade work according to the project schedule and resolve any site issues as needed.
- Provide clear direction and leadership to all trades on site based on plans, specifications, and the overall schedule.
- Manage the delivery, verification, and secure storage of equipment and materials to the jobsite.
- Conduct and document site safety inspections; meet with OSHA officials or other authorities as necessary.
- Maintain organization of all construction documents, including plans, shop drawings, submittals, and updates.
- Update and track changes to construction documentation as required.
- Oversee project closeout and final completion tasks, including punch list coordination and final inspections.
- Direct and manage all jobsite activity to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and safety expectations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5-10 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent
- Experience supervising ground up construction projects required
- Broad range of experience in both commercial and Multi-unit wood-framed residential buildings.
- Superior organizational, supervisory, and communication skills
- Proven commitment to safety on the jobsite
- OSHA 10 hour certification
- Construction Supervisor’s License required
