Representative II, Customer Care (Collections) Compensation
- The pay for this position is $17.00 per hour
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Representative II, Customer Care (Collections) Highlights
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- Remote position – preference for East Coast candidates
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm EST
Representative II, Customer Care (Collections) Responsibilities
- Review open patient account balances for accuracy and collect payment via outbound calls
- Set up payment plans for patients as needed
- Investigate patient billing inquiries and communicate findings to patients and AR team
- Answer inbound patient calls with professionalism and empathy
- Document all collection actions and billing status updates in patient accounts
- Apply knowledge of Medicare guidelines and payer requirements to collections process
- Identify trends and potential resolutions, and communicate effectively with leadership
- Process patient correspondence and complete all assigned internal notes
- Maintain standard production and quality expectations set for the department

Representative II, Customer Care (Collections) Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year of outbound patient collections experience in the medical industry
- Strong and professional verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional listening skills with a calm demeanor; ability to de-escalate heightened conversations
- Understanding of insurance EOBs and denial reasoning
- Ability to navigate and enter data into various electronic systems accurately
- Effective communication skills with leadership and peers
- Excellent organization, time management, and prioritization skills
- Ability to work independently, apply problem-solving techniques, and perform intermediate math
- Strong PC skills, including moderate knowledge of Excel
- Familiarity with call center telecommunications software, including outbound dialer systems
- Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience coaching and mentoring new patient collections team members
- Ability to maintain documentation on coaching efforts and report performance to management
