Job Description

We are seeking a motivated, detail‑oriented HPLC Biochemistry Team Lead with at least 2 years of relevant laboratory experience to join our team. In this hybrid role, you will perform advanced physicochemical and HPLC‑based analyses to support the characterization of early‑stage biotherapeutics—including proteins, antibodies, peptides, and conjugates—while also providing day‑to‑day leadership to a team of scientists.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and advanced physicochemical characterization utilizing techniques such as:
    • Analytical Size Exclusion Chromatography (aSEC)
    • Analytical Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography (aHIC)
    • High‑Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
    • Capillary Gel Electrophoresis (CGE)
    • Imaged Capillary Electrophoresis (iCE/CE)
  • Apply these analytical techniques across a diverse range of biologics.
  • Accurately document, analyze, and interpret data in Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELNs).
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional team members to ensure high‑quality, timely results.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Support and monitor the performance of a team of laboratory employees.
  • Participate in interviewing and evaluating new hires.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new team members.
  • Communicate administrative updates and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Champion and promote the company’s mission and values.
  • Ensure adherence to the highest standards for lab quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain shift coverage, coordinate workflow, and oversee daily task execution.
  • Conduct administrative tasks related to employee development, coaching, and performance.
  • Balance hands‑on technical laboratory work with people‑leadership responsibilities.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and high‑morale team culture.

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Biochemistry or a related scientific field.
  • 2+ years of hands‑on laboratory experience in an industrial setting using HPLC, chromatography, and/or capillary electrophoresis.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior laboratory leadership or supervisory experience.



Additional Information

The position is full-time, first shift, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Cambridge, MA, are encouraged to apply.
