Position Overview
The Junior Sous Chef plays a key leadership role in the kitchen, supporting the Executive and Sous Chefs in ensuring dishes are executed to perfection. This individual will help lead the culinary team, maintain consistency and quality standards, and contribute creativity to menu execution. The Junior Sous Chef is expected to lead by example, train and mentor team members, and uphold the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Uphold and enforce food safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
- Support menu execution and contribute creativity to seasonal offerings.
- Train, mentor, and inspire line cooks and junior team members.
- Help manage inventory, ordering, and cost control to maintain profitability.
- Maintain strong communication and collaboration with the culinary and service teams.
- Step into leadership when senior chefs are absent, ensuring consistency and excellence.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 3 years of culinary experience in a high-volume, upscale dining environment.
- Strong leadership skills with a passion for developing and mentoring others.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
- Honesty, integrity, and a genuine love for hospitality and guest satisfaction.
- A hands-on leader who thrives in a team-oriented, fast-paced kitchen.
