P&C Generalist

Job Summary/Objective

The P&C Generalist plays a key role in supporting the human resources function within a dynamic food manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for a broad range of P&C activities, including staffing, employee relations, onboarding, compliance, and P&C program execution. The P&C Generalist ensures the smooth operation of P&C processes and serves as a resource to employees and managers, fostering a positive and compliant work environment.

Essential Functions

  • Onboarding & Orientation: Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding processes, ensuring all new employees are integrated effectively and receive necessary training. Implement and manage employee recognition programs to boost morale and engagement.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as the primary contact for employee inquiries, addressing concerns, and escalating complex issues as needed. Assist with disciplinary matters, terminations, and investigations, ensuring fair and consistent treatment of all employees.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Track and document training, continuing education, and work assessments. Conduct background checks and verify employment eligibility.
  • P&C Program Management: Administer P&C programs, including compensation, benefits, leave management, performance management, and talent development. Monitor and report on P&C metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Temporary Staffing: Act as the primary interface for temporary staffing needs within production and manufacturing departments, ensuring effective communication and documentation with temporary agencies.
  • P&C Systems & Reporting: Utilize P&CIS and other P&C management systems to maintain employee records, generate reports, and provide data-driven insights to support P&C decision-making.
  • Process Ownership: Serve as process owner for one or more P&C processes (e.g., open enrollment, leave of absence process), ensuring efficiency, consistency, and continuous improvement

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but collaborates closely with supervisors and managers across various departments

Work Environment

  • The role is primarily office-based within a food manufacturing facility, and may occasionally need to visit production areas, requiring adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to navigate different departments within the facility.

Position Type

  • Full-Time

Work Hours

  • Core hours are Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
  • This position requires an in-office presence.

Travel

  • Vehicular travel will be required between Bake’n Joy locations.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 3+ years of Human Resource experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in P&CIS and talent management systems.

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now (WFN) is highly preferred.
