WHAT DOES YOUR DAY ENTAIL?
This is a full-time position with a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
As an ABLE I Developmental Specialist, you'll start by creating a respectful and structured environment for individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their dignity and rights are upheld at all times. Throughout the day, you'll lead Day Habilitation Aides in promoting full community integration and providing essential support services. From facilitating community activities to assisting with daily living skills, your role will be dynamic and rewarding. You'll also collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, maintain member records, and participate in internal investigations to ensure the highest standards of care are met.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
- A high school diploma or associate degree
- At least 1 year of experience working as a team leader caring for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassion, patience, and empathy
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing needs and priorities
