Job Description
Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing payroll for our operations, we have two divisions – ADA Traffic Control and ADA Bureau of Investigations & Security. They will also provide support to managers and employees on all matters related to payroll activities in addition to enhancing current practices and ensuring payroll compliance. This individual should have the ability to review, compile and analyze information with minimal errors, correspond with candidates in a professional and timely manner, and be able to maintain project timelines independently.
Responsibilities
- Collecting, verifying, and recording payroll information to efficiently process a weekly payroll for 100 to 300 employees located in different states
- Record voluntary deductions, as well as wage garnishments, pay levies, and other involuntary court-ordered payments in a timely manner, including reporting to the necessary authorities
- Review and update ADP information system records to ensure up-to-date personnel records
- Build and run custom reports
- Provide customer service in employee-related payroll inquiries
- Maintain the highest standards of accuracy, precision, discretion, and confidentiality
- Maintain employee profiles up to date by processing any changes, adjustment modifications
- Facilitate company compliance according to federal and state regulations and guidelines
- Participate in Year-end tasks; W2’s, annual declarations, etc.
- Provide support in applying payroll process adjustments
- Work closely with managers to train time and attendance procedures in order to facilitate smooth and timely approvals.
- Respond to employee or manager inquiries regarding pay, deductions, tax filings or other payroll related items.
Requirements
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now
- Highly proficient in Excel
- A strong understanding of federal and state payroll laws and regulations.
- General knowledge of employment laws. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Maintain confidentiality, confidential records, and sensitive materials. Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in processing and reporting. Create and build effective relationships with employees.
