Join the team fighting hunger in New Hampshire! The New Hampshire Food Bank (NHFB) is seeking a seasoned Director of Development to lead and grow our fundraising efforts in close partnership with the Executive Director. This senior leadership role drives revenue, strengthens donor relationships, and ensures the resources needed to advance NHFB’s mission.
Responsibilities:
· Lead and execute annual and long-range fundraising strategies across major gifts, grants, direct response, events, sponsorships, and partnerships.
· Manage a portfolio of up to 400 major gift prospects, growing gifts from $10,000 to $1M+.
· Oversee donor stewardship, community engagement, and market presence to expand awareness and support.
· Lead, coach, and develop the Development Team; set goals, evaluate performance, and foster a collaborative culture.
· Manage direct mail campaigns, donor data, and reporting using Raiser’s Edge.
· Coordinate all grant activity with NHFB leadership, program staff, and Catholic Charities NH.
· Prepare and manage the Development budget and report progress to NHFB and CCNH leadership.
· Partner with internal leaders on strategic planning, communications, and program promotion.
· Represent NHFB at donor meetings, community events, and public presentations (some evenings/weekends required).
· Promote and model CCNH’s mission, vision, and CHOICES values.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
· 5+ years of fundraising leadership experience, including major gifts.
· 5+ years of supervisory experience, ideally in a mission-driven organization.
· Proven success meeting or exceeding fundraising goals.
· Strong relationship-building, leadership, and analytical skills.
· Experience with donor management systems (Raiser’s Edge preferred).
· Valid driver’s license.
· A deep commitment to serving vulnerable populations and ending hunger in New Hampshire.
