Position Overview:
Gourmet Catering by Andrew, New England’s premier kosher caterer, is a well-established Boston-based company seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Equipment Team Member to join our growing team. This role is essential to ensure all event equipment is clean, organized, and ready for delivery. Key Responsibilities:
· Event Preparation: Assist with pulling and preparing equipment for upcoming catering events.
· Loading & Unloading: Safely load and unload equipment from trucks and vans.
· Organization & Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and functional equipment storage area.
· Quality Control: Ensure all items are clean, operational, and event-ready before dispatch.
· Kosher Handling Protocols: Follow kosher standards, including the separation of Meat, Dairy, and Parve items.
· Packing & Labeling: Label and pack equipment accurately according to event-specific packing lists.
· Post-Event Processing: Assist with equipment check-in, cleaning, and restocking after events.
· Reporting: Promptly report any missing, damaged, or malfunctioning items to supervisors.
· Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen and event staff to coordinate timely deliveries.
· Verification: Use checklists to confirm that all required items are packed and returned.
· Basic Maintenance: Perform simple maintenance tasks such as wiping down items, wrapping cords, or making minor repairs.
· Physical Requirements: Safely lift and move items up to 50 lbs using proper techniques.
· Transport Tools: Operate carts, dollies, and other transport tools for efficient equipment handling.
· Safety: Always follow all warehouse and transport safety procedures.
· Professionalism: Maintain punctuality, reliability, and a professional demeanor with coworkers and clients.
· Hygiene & Attire: Adhere to hygiene standards and wear appropriate work attire.
· Flexibility: Be available for flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
· Teamwork: Communicate clearly and assist with other tasks during busy periods.
· Excellence: Uphold the company’s commitment to quality, organization, and attention to detail.
Qualifications:
· Prior experience in catering, warehousing, or event setup is a plus (not required).
· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs safely.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
