Job DescriptionOur client in Westwood MA is seeking a Chemist to join the team
Duties:
- Prepare and test samples by performing physical, chemical, and electrical evaluations on both new and existing products in accordance with specified standards.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain analytical instruments, including FTIR, TGA, DSC, TMA, GC/MS, and GPC.
- Conduct analysis of raw materials and final products to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
- Manage inventory of essential lab consumables and critical spare parts to ensure uninterrupted operation of analytical equipment.
- Develop and validate reliable testing methodologies for the analysis of raw materials and finished products.
- Train laboratory technicians in established analytical procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Requirements:
- BS or MS degree in chemistry, polymer science or a related field with three or more years of laboratory experience
- High school diploma or equivalent acceptable with 10+ years laboratory experience
- Successful candidate should have demonstrated experience with the following instruments / techniques: FTIR, TGA, DSC, TMA, GC/MS, GPC, HPLC.
- Experience in set up, calibration, maintenance, methods development / optimization, interpretation and reporting of results required.
- Excellent communication skills required. Ability to organize and present scientific data to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to execute multiple parallel projects
