Role Overview:

The Global Head of Planning & Inventory will lead Veranova’s global inventory operations across our pharmaceutical CDMO network, ensuring optimal material availability, regulatory compliance, and strategic alignment with our API manufacturing and emerging initiatives. This role is pivotal in supporting commercial and clinical supply chains, driving digital transformation, and enabling scalability across global sites.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and execute a global Inventory Control strategy aligned with corporate goals, including cost optimization, supplier innovation, and risk management.
    • Develop company-wide Material Planning & Inventory Control policies procedures to support common approach across sites.
    • Partner with Veranova’s senior leadership team to achieve company-wide objectives.
    • Evaluate the functional strengths and developmental areas in the Supply Chain organization to develop continuous improvement strategy.
    • Work with internal cross-functional stakeholders for the development and execution of Planning & Inventory strategies.
    • Make decisions based on the professional judgment, experience, budget, cGMP regulations, and the ethical guidelines of good business practices.
  • Global Inventory & Material Planning:
    • Oversee global material requirements planning (MRP) to ensure uninterrupted production while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
    • Establish inventory optimization frameworks to balance service levels, working capital, and risk mitigation across multiple geographies.
    • Drive initiatives to standardize and streamline planning processes leveraging ERP, advanced analytics, and digital tools.
  • Compliance & Risk:
    • Ensure activities adhere to internal policies and external regulations, including sustainability and ethical sourcing standards
  • Team Leadership:
    • Build and mentor a high-performing global material planning and inventory control team, fostering cross-functional collaboration and talent development
  • Digital Enablement:
    • Champion planning and inventory control technology adoption (e.g., ERP, eSourcing platforms) to enhance transparency, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making
  • Spend Analysis & Reporting:
    • Monitor procurement KPIs, conduct spend analysis, and report performance to executive leadership.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Ensure optimization of the department fixed cost, variable cost and capital budgets striving to contribute to Veranova’s profitability.
    • Develop standards to streamline procurement processes and implement the best practices in Procurement/Purchasing/SRM.
    • Leads the strategic purchasing of raw materials and consumables to ensure Veranova’s competitive advantage.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field;
  • MBA or Professional procurèrent certification a plus.
  • 10 years+ of progressive planning and inventory control experience; experience in life sciences or biotech
  • In depth experience in large-scale commercial and development manufacturing operations.
  • Significant experience/training in biotechnology/pharmaceutical production practices, cGMP requirements, materials planning, management and procurement.
  • Proven success in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and procurement transformation.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory environments and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, D365), eProcurement tools, and digital procurement strategies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work by influencing peers and their reports and gain cooperation in dealing with multiple priorities in the management of end-to-end supply chain activities.
  • Strong leadership and conceptual thinking to ensure that a cost-effective organization is put in place and developed.
  • Rational persuasion particularly in negotiations with suppliers.
  • Strong people management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage servicing a wide range of demands from multiple groups within the organization.
  • Extremely high levels of initiative (particularly in relation to & purchasing) and tenacity.
  • Advanced desktop application experience Microsoft Power point, Excel, and Word.

Preferred

  • Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or CDMO environments.
  • Familiarity with zero-based budgeting and sustainability programs.
  • Ability to work across diverse cultures and matrixed organizations.

Salary Range: $175,000 - $275,000 annual base salary
