Position: Scientist – Immunology Discovery

Location: Cambridge, MA

Type: Contract | Onsite

A leading biotech company in Cambridge, MA is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Scientist to join its Immunology Discovery team. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in cell-based assays, organoid culture, and immunological techniques who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative research environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Culture and maintain human colon organoids for experimental use.
  • Perform cell-based assays using mammalian cell lines and primary cells to assess proliferation, cytokine release, and gene expression.
  • Utilize advanced molecular and cellular biology techniques including flow cytometry, ELISA, MSD, HTRF, and qPCR.
  • Process animal and human tissue ex vivo and isolate immune cells as needed.
  • Independently design, execute, and interpret experiments to support project goals.
  • Collaborate across teams to support organoid needs and share data insights.
  • Innovate and implement new protocols and techniques.
  • Analyze and report data clearly and consistently in both individual and group settings.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or related field with 2+ years of industry experience.
  • Strong experience in in vitro cell culture, including sterile techniques and handling of challenging cell types.
  • Experience with human colon organoids and primary epithelial cells.
  • Hands-on experience with immune cells (e.g., monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells).
  • Proficiency in immunoassays such as flow cytometry, ELISA, MSD, and HTRF.
  • Skilled in gene expression analysis via qPCR.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ex vivo animal tissue processing.
  • Familiarity with GMP documentation and cleanroom gowning.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards (USP, EP, JP, ICH guidelines).

This is a Contract position based out of Cambridge, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
