Job Purpose
Manage the interface between Marketing/Sales, R&D, Supply Chain, and Operations at a strategic and operational level for assigned product categories. Represent Operations in cross-functional teams that decide on new product development or product renovation projects, managing the operational workflow and giving strategic and tactical input on required new technology, manufacturing footprint, etc.
Essential Functions
- Represent Operations in category group for all new or enhanced products and programs
- Develop and recommend technical strategy to ensure program objectives meet the product category strategic plan and ensure that resources are strategically deployed against business priorities
- Provide technical assessment and recommendation concerning the feasibility of new or enhanced product development programs
- Partner in the preparation of capital proposals and initiate appropriation requests for all new product implementations or new capability launches
- Establish and communicate overall funding requirements, timing, scope, and resource analysis
- Work extensively with manufacturing sites to communicate program objectives, seek recommendations, and develop appropriate strategies to deliver objectives
- Identify resources, timing, and financial conflicts; resolve through re-sequencing or resource adjustment
- Initiate and maintain new product/project documentation for implementation into manufacturing; ensure the fundamental steps of conceptual design, functional specifications, development, debugging, program documentation, training, and equipment performance are carried out in a highly effective manner
- Work collaboratively with Operations and Supply Chain to properly manage new product availability during the launch phase
- Identify operational solutions for all required launch/seasonal sales samples, as well as technically support sales meetings as required
- Manage the preparation of project budgets and forecasts in support of the overall operations requirements
- Prepare and present analysis of plant capabilities, proposed equipment capability purchases, savings and growth initiatives, and product transfer reviews
- Ensure plant readiness for plant production runs; accept handoffs from R&D
- Assist R&D in plant trials where applicable
- Support food safety program, quality standards, and legality of manufactured products
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience; Master’s degree desired
- 4-7 years of work experience in engineering, manufacturing, or product development
- 2-4 years of experience in project or program planning
- Supply chain and operations experience desired
- Cross-functional management experience and/or experience in a teaming environment
- Skilled in Microsoft Office applications and programs
- Industry knowledge desired

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $90,000 to $120,000 annually. Pay is based upon several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. Rise Baking Company complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
