Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A school district in the Boston, MA area is seeking a skilled Visually Impaired Teacher for a contract position during the current school year. This role supports K-12 students with visual impairments and offers both full-time and part-time opportunities. The position is onsite and available from January 26, 2026, through June 18, 2026.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to K-12 students with visual impairments
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans based on students needs
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers to enhance student learning
  • Administer assessments relevant to visual impairment and adapt curriculum accordingly
  • Maintain detailed records and progress reports in compliance with state and local guidelines

Qualifications:

  • Active Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (MA DOE) license as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (VI)
  • Successful completion of Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL) exams
  • Experience teaching visually impaired students in K-12 settings
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and employ assistive technology

Location: Boston, MA (onsite requirement)

Duration: January 26, 2026 June 18, 2026
