Summary:The Mobile Boiler Maintenance Mechanic supports the mobile boiler fleet by performing the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of boilers, piping systems, and related mechanical equipment. This role requires technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to deliver high-quality work under urgent and demanding conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:
- Installation and Repairs
- Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of boilers and piping systems.
- Repair and upgrade mobile boilers and trailers.
- Fabricate, thread, weld, solder, and fit piping systems as required.
- Build out and install new boiler systems to existing or new trailers, to include but not limited to pumps, feed tanks, oil tanks and steam headers.
- Install piping to all mechanical equipment inside trailer.
- Install piping and hoses at rental sites.
- Safety and Compliance
- Follow all OSHA, NFPA, ASME, and company safety standards, including lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and personal protective equipment usage.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable codes and regulations related to boiler and piping work.
- Participate in required safety training.
- Documentation and Communication
- Complete accurate job reports and timekeeping logs in accordance with company policies.
- Maintain records of materials, tools, and equipment used.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and customers regarding job progress, safety concerns, and outcomes.
- Team and Company Support
- Assist colleagues with small piping installations, shutdowns, and system rebuilds as needed.
- Assist the Mobile Boiler Division by performing maintenance and repair work on the mobile fleet.
- Maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment in clean and safe operating condition.
- Represent the company professionally in all customer interactions.
QualificationsTo perform this job successfully; an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in boiler, piping, or mechanical system installation and repair.
- Demonstrated knowledge of boiler operation, hydronic/steam systems, and associated piping codes.
- Proficiency with mechanical hand and power tools, welding equipment, threading machines, and diagnostic instruments.
- Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record required.
- Must meet company pre-employment screenings and physical requirements.

- Technical Knowledge:Strong understanding of boiler and piping systems, troubleshooting methods, and installation techniques.
- Problem-Solving:Ability to quickly assess emergency situations and implement effective corrective action.
- Safety Orientation:Commitment to safe work practices and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Communication:Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with customers under stressful conditions.
- Teamwork and Flexibility:Willingness to support team members, adjust to shifting priorities, and work extended hours as required.
- Physical Requirements:Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and remain on feet for extended periods.
Education/Training/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational, trade, or technical school training preferred.
- Journeyman pipefitter is required.
- Oil burner license is required.
- Electrical background is a plus.
- Proficient in computer technology.
Work Environment
- Work is primarily performed at the mobile fleet yard as well as customer sites, which may include industrial, commercial, or institutional facilities.
- Exposure to hot surfaces, high-pressure systems, steam, chemicals, and noisy environments is common.
- Work may be performed in outdoor environments and under adverse weather conditions.
Work Hours
- Monday Thursday, 6:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m.
