As Vice President of Finance, you will lead the bank’s financial reporting and analysis functions while ensuring strong financial performance, stability, and regulatory compliance. In this role, you will contribute to capital planning and asset-liability management (ALM) strategies, providing critical insight into balance sheet performance and risk. Acting as a trusted advisor to the executive team and Board of Directors, you will translate complex financial data into clear, strategic recommendations that support informed decision-making and sustainable growth.

What You'll Be Doing (Your Responsibilities)

  1. Actively leads staff in hiring and employment activity, employee relations, performance management, departmental training and development, and job assignment issues to encourage maximization of employee potential and morale.
  2. Responsible for the maintenance and compliance of key policy statements including capital adequacy, interest rate risk management, liquidity management, investments, and risk tolerance. Contributes to the development and execution to optimize such key policy statements.
  3. Coordinates the Asset/Liability Management program in conjunction with the management Asset/Liability Committee and Board Asset / Liability Committee. Coordinate the preparation of the quarterly Asset/Liability model by providing assumptions and information to the Credit Union’s third party Asset/Liability advisory firm.
  4. Lead the comprehensive budgeting, financial forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
  5. Manages accounting department to maximize efficiency and productivity, including: making routine employment decisions, reviewing performance, assigning work, providing training and coaching subordinates.
  6. Maintains a strong internal control structure ensuring accounting policies, processes and financial reports are in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  7. Prepares quarterly Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) calculation and analysis and account for the Credit Union’s impaired loans and foreclosed real estate.
  8. Responsible for month end close process and preparation of monthly internal Board reports.
  9. Provides support and documentation for the Audited Financial Statements and 990 and 990T process. This includes maintenance of the footnotes for the audited financial statements. Ensuring any quarterly tax payments are remitted in accordance with taxing authorities.
  10. Conducts in-depth financial analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs), operating results, and variance against budget to identify trends, efficiencies, and areas for improvement. Also, performs financial analyses and product cost analyses for present and future products.
  11. Ensures all decisions made supports the objective of being the “Best Place to Work and Bank.”
  12. Participates in various committees as deemed necessary by the Executive Team.
  13. Performs all other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For (Your Qualifications)

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
  2. Ten to twelve years’ experience in Accounting/Finance within a financial organization, preferably from a Credit Union environment is required.
  3. Strong analytical abilities required.
  4. Demonstrated proficiency in accounting, regulatory, investment, risk management and technical systems knowledge.
  5. Demonstrated written/verbal communication, decision making, and interpersonal skills required.
  6. The ability to lead and develop staff in achieving departmental and personal objectives required.
  7. PC skills to include MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and financial software systems required.
