Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Housing Manager, the student worker supports the mission of the seminary and the Housing Office by performing a variety of office support and clerical duties that include but are not limited to: scanning & filing, data entry, processing transcripts, email sorting and correspondence, answering phones, and assisting walk-ins by answering basic questions or directing them to the appropriate office personnel. This position is an important member of the Housing Office, providing excellent service to students, faculty, staff, and other visitors, and efficiently and accurately performing all assigned tasks. The Housing Office is under the Student Life Department, striving to provide the best student residential experience.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assists in overseeing and organizing the Housing email inbox
• Assists in email correspondence and sending out housing communications
• Assists in data management on Excel (i.e., Housing Master List)
• Scanning and Filing Forms
• Creates move-in packets, residency letters, housing agreements, flyers, etc.
• Serves as initial contact for the Housing Office: answers phone, email, and walk-in students. Answers basic housing questions and wisely and efficiently assesses the nature of the concerns and handles or makes appropriate referrals as necessary.
• Move around campus to drop off move-in packets, for inspections, and for other various tasks.
• Assists in other tasks as requested by the Housing Office

Required Competencies

• Possesses solid experience in the use of a computer, especially the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
• Organized and highly attentive to detail
• Capable of maintaining strict adherence to confidentiality practices
• Possessing basic computer skills and willing to learn new systems and databases
• Demonstrating excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills; able to warmly greet visitors and provide efficient assistance
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Able to collaborate as part of a team
• Willing to learn and perform new tasks as needed
